After a pretty straight forward trip from Auckland to our Hostel in Buenos Aires, sleep was supposed to be the first thing on our minds, but a ´guided Futbol tour´caught my eye.
For a princely sum, Steph and I got private transport to the game, a feed and a bit of interpretation of what the heck was going on.. The game was Boca Juniors vs Colon, held at the Juniors stadium in one of the shadiest parts of BA. There were riot police everywhere and we had to be frisked at the checkpoints before being allowed in..
We got a few glasses of the local beer ´Quilmes´ and a Choripan (like a hotdog, Choritzo sausage and Bread) in a little room not far from the stadium.
The atmosphere was incredible, with amazing chants, songs, fireworks (not official ones). The home side scored 3 goals and each time the crowd went absolutely mental. Very very impressive.
Next day I rang an old school friend who happened to be living in BA. Erik took his role as tour guide very seriously and walked us all around the town till our legs nearly fell off. He explained constantly as we went, buying some local snacks for us to try along the way. That night we had a few beers and ate at a Parilla, before calling it quits a little after midnight.
Folks from BA stay up REAL late, dinner isn´t normally until 10pm or so, making adjusting to the time zone rather tricky...

You did a good thing not taking the camera to the football game, people at the stadium are crazy and are capable of anything! I love the matches the play though. When I travelled to Argentina, I got an apartment rental in Buenos Aires which was close to the Boca stadium. I felt passion every Sunday and everybody was happy, they really know how to party!
